Field Day
2006 Field Day Report submitted by Kyle Kindjerski
June 24-25 The Northern Amateur Radio Club participated in emergency preparedness day. We took out the NARC Pac and set up in Rundle Park NE Edmonton, Where we joined the Easter Seal Relay, which we work among for the full 24 hours. We really promoted Amateur Radio with our official looking setup and well trained well-charactered operators.
Though not only did we take part in Field Day we also showed off our brute strength and honorable battle techniques on a sumo ring and trying to catch a ride on the go carts. We did in fact have some medical complications but this was mainly due to Parry’s lack of calcium intake.
We also got a chance to help people learn about this great hobby by showing them the equipment and awe-ing them with our good looks and killer charm. Congrats to one of our operators for making the furthest contact thru-out the whole exercise David with his DX contact in Australia!. I would also like to give a thanks to Parry who worked very hard to keep the generators operational and keeping us out of the dark. And a special thanks goes out to all of the people there supporting the Northern Amateur Radio Club.
