    Thank You VE6RHS Ray.
This will be great! How strong is D-Star in the Northern Alberta Radio club? I will have to get down to Alfa Radio and see whats in stock.

D-STAR is still active, however it seems as if cost of equipment is an issue for some. That being said the radio you select is becoming less of a factor with cross mode reflectors becoming more popular. For example, the Quadnet Array has D-STAR reflectors such as XRF757A in Atlanta, XLX735A in New York, XLX307D in Wyoming and XLX049D in Northern Ireland. These are all linked together and then transcoded to Brandmeister TG 31012 or if you use DMR Gateway you can use XLX307 as your dmr master and then use TG 6 to get to the transcoder. So basically now you just decide on which radio you like and get on the air.
